A video online became viral. A man named Oscar Mendez was actively changing the world when most people would only dream or speak of doing so. Oscar is solving one world issue by solving another one. He works to reduce plastic waste by recycling them into building materials so he can build homes for the homeless. He is the founder of Colombian Enterprise as well as Concept Plastics. He and his people can build a 430 sq. ft house every five days. They have built 16,145 sq. ft worth of homes to date and are continuing everyday.

According to the video, so far they’ve recycled about 300 tons of plastic waste. They recycle plastics and rubber into lego style brick pieces so that they can put together rudimentary houses quickly and efficiently. The video has been so popular that people are even tagging their governments so that they can implement something similar in their own countries.
