Unexpectedly, the Republican National Convention was interesting. Expectedly, it wasn’t for anything good. Melania Trump, Donald Trump’s wife, gave a speech at the convention to highlight Trump’s positive qualities and his qualification to run our nation. The speech was well written and going well until journalist Jarrett Hill realized it was well written for a reason. He took to Twitter and highlighted all the parts of her speech that were basically copy and pasted from Michelle Obama’s National Convention speech from 2008. It’s not like the entire speech was plagiarized, but many of the points that went over well with the crowd were used in Melania’s speech. You can see in this video how similar parts of the speeches were.

Of course people on Twitter ran with the idea. The hashtag #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes surfaced where people credited Melania Trump with famous quotes other people have said throughout history.
