Mariah Carey is known for being a huge diva, and rightly so with her looks and career. Looking as good as she does, people hardly believe that she is 45 and a mother of two. But despite looking as amazing as she does, Mariah recently told the Sunday Times that she always has and still struggles with body image issues. She says that she stays in shape with a very “bleak” diet and strict workout regiment. “Yes. My diet is very bleak, I overuse the word because there is a lot of bleakness going on. My bleak diet is horrendous, but I don’t want to tell anyone about it because it’s none of their business.” She refused to speak about any specifics regarding her diet or workout regiment because she doesn’t want anyone to comment on it.

She told the publication that she has always struggled with self image even at the peak of her career. “I am a pretty insecure person,” she explains, “But I have to get over that because this is the reality of my life. I look better than I looked a few months ago, but I am definitely not one of those people who says, ‘I look amazing today.'” Contrary to certain celebrities like Kim Kardashian who flaunts her pregnancy body all over social media, Mariah like many women, struggled with her self image. “When I was pregnant, I had a house with lots of antique mirrors on the walls, so as I walked around I couldn’t help but look at myself—this huge pregnant woman, I hated myself for decorating the house with all these mirrors. I was so mad at myself.” Even huge stars like Mariah Carey understands the daily struggle of accepting and loving oneself.
