You would think the life of a celebrity as popular as Johnny Depp would be all roses and piles of money. The last week has been especially difficult for the Hollywood movie star. Earlier last week, it was confirmed that Depp’s mother, Betty Sue Palmer, had died at the age of 81 due to a long illness. The two had a close relationship and his mother could be found in many of the sets that he was part of as well as many Hollywood functions. Depp would often speak of his and his mother’s upbringing. “My mother was raised in a shack, in the wilds of Appalachia, where the toilet was an outhouse.” He even has the words Betty Sue tattooed in a heart on his left arm.

If that wasn’t tragic enough, just days later his wife of 15 months, Amber Heard, filed for divorce from Johnny Depp. The divorce cited “irreconcilable differences” where a reason was listed. There were rumors that they were separated for a while last December but Heard insisted that they were only rumors. Neither have come out and made any official statements about the divorce. Depp entered a relationship with Heard just a year after he divorced his then wife of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis.

Regardless of what happened or the reason, Depp will probably more preoccupied with the loss of his beloved mother for now. We wish condolences for Depp and his loss(es).
