Hacking has now become a legitimate occupation. Lots of companies out there are offering rewards for finding security flaws or bugs in their websites or apps. Though it sounds very technical anyone can do this. Just by going about your regular day and finding reporting a bug that you’ve randomly stumbled across can merit some money.

Just a couple months ago, a 10 year old boy reported a bug on Instagram. Facebook, which owns Instagram, gave him $10,000 for his report on a bug that allowed him to delete other people’s comments by inserting a certain code as a comment. Pornhub, the infamous porn website has now joined hundreds of other companies that now offer money rewards for people to find bugs or security flaws in their system. Other companies like Yahoo, Facebook, Dropbox, Uber, Oculus VR, OKCupid, and most other services you use probably offer some type of program. Even the U.S. Defense Department offers rewards for hacking into their system albeit a slightly different type of program than commercial businesses offer. If you want to make some extra cash or just want to test your tech skills, this is now quickly becoming a viable way to make some extra money.
