Donald Trump isn’t well liked by democrats and in fact, isn’t well liked by republicans either. Many republicans actually think that whoever ends up as the democratic candidate may actually help the republicans save face by defeating Trump. Trump also shares no love from those that people call “the establishment.” He is considered the ultimate outsider, someone with no political background and is basically a gasoline soaked match that has polarized the voters across the nation. But, there is another outsider on the other side of the political coin. Bernie Sanders is the democratic outsider that is cutting into Hillary’s formerly commanding lead. The two democrats are now so close in delegate count that it could be anyone’s race, as long as the super delegates are still in play.

Surprisingly, Trump has come out and supported Bernie Sanders. Identifying with him as an outsider, he points out that the similarities between Sanders and himself are quite broad. The two definitely are the dark horses of their political parties that nobody thought would get very far. Now the two of them are so close to their respective nominations. He uses the parallel between them to highlight how the system is basically rigged against outsiders. Only time will tell whether the presidential election will be held between two dark horses. Until then, it behooves everyone to keep a watchful eye and an open mind to those that are still in the race.
