The wild ride that is the republican candidacy is all but decided With Donald Trump, but the democratic candidate is still very much in the air. While Hillary Clinton has the edge, good old Bernie Sanders is still hot on her heels trailing by just a few hundred delegates after his recent victory in Indiana and West Virginia. With states like California and New Jersey still in the running, Bernie might just get the delegates he needs and once that happens, the super delegates (the guys who can switch their votes) won’t be far behind. But one concern we’ve heard from many voters is that Bernie is pretty old, yeah seriously his age.

If he is elected as president, he will be the oldest elected president in US history at 74 years old. That means if he has two terms, he’ll be done with office when he’s 82 years old. That makes a lot of people nervous that he’ll have some major health issues, death for instance, during his presidency. It’s no secret that the presidency puts some serious stress and wear on a person. Every president that held office basically aged decades in the few short years they were president. That puts a lot of pressure on Bernie’s vice president pick which hasn’t been announced yet. But, we just want to assure everyone out there that it is unlikely that Bernie will just up and die during the presidency. The Bernie Sanders’ campaign has released medical records and a letter from his personal doctor assuring everyone that he is in great health.

The senator has no history of cardiovascular disease, all his vitals fall within normal to exceptional range, and he doesn’t smoke. He has been treated for various ailments over the course of his lifetime but none of them should have any effect on his ability to run for office. So for those people out there who love the guy but are afraid his constitution isn’t as strong as America’s is you have just as much to worry about if not more if you were to vote for Hillary or eventually probably Trump. There are no perfect candidates, but the thing that most people can agree on is, Bernie is passionate and inspirational. He brings the fabled apathetic younger voter back to the political discussion and anyone who can do that has a real shot at making a difference as president.
