People from all over the world were shaken to their core when they learned that superstar Prince passed away last week. He was found alone on Thursday morning slumped over in an elevator. The police have launched a full investigation into his death since nobody was around to witness his death. So far evidence suggests that there was no foul play and that it was likely NOT a suicide. But, the police are continuing their investigation. The autopsy, report will not be released until it is complete which will most likely take another week or two. So we still don’t know if it was an accidental death or complications from previous overdoses.

Prince’s body was cremated and the funeral was small, despite Prince’s massive persona. It was a quiet low-key ceremony that reflected his private personality. Fans have gathered in droves from all over the world to honor Prince in front of his estate. Gift boxes filled with reminders of Prince were given to the first people to arrive from the estate. Prince’s music can be heard to honor him and the family has even ordered pizza directly to mourners for their support. Broadway shows including “The Color Purple” and “Hamilton” have taken a moment to honor Prince in their own ways after their shows in the form of tribute songs.

One of the final questions still remain; who will inherit his fortune? His parents are gone and close friend and former manager of Prince says that his sister, Tyka Nelson should not inherit his money. He says that she is “not business savvy” enough to inherit it. There is no news on whether Prince left a will to divide his fortune. If it goes to a legal decision, his sister may be the best candidate to inherit his almost 800 million dollar estate which includes his collection of unreleased work.

The only thing that really matters is that one of the brightest superstars to grace the stage has taken his last bow. The icon that has inspired countless musicians will always be remembered.
