With Trump and Clinton dominating the polls and the media outlets, it’s easy to forget the primaries still aren’t over. There are more than just two candidates still in the race. On the democrat side Bernie Sanders just barely trails behind Hillary Clinton. After his big wins in Hawaii, Washington, and Alaska he now is only a few hundred delegates behind Clinton with 975 vs her 1,243. Though a huge leap forward, there is still a huge deficit between Sanders and Clinton when it comes to super delegates. Bernie Sanders only has a paltry 29 to Hilary Clinton’s 469 which gives her a promising lead.

Clinton’s total delegate count of 1,712 brings her dangerously close to the 2,383 she needs for the nomination. Comparatively, Sanders has an uphill battle with only 1,004 nominations. In an interview, Bernie Sanders has outlined his plan to defeat his opponent which is “super delegates” who can change their allegiance. Recent polls have suggested that Bernie is becoming more popular due to people believing he may have a better chance against a republican. Recent polls taken by different demographics indicate that Bernie Sanders is particularly popular with younger voters like millennials. Perhaps this combined with his catching up in polls will sway the super delegates to come to his side. 2016-03-12-1457776885-8487260-berniesanders
